Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the RestIQ app ("Application") for mobile devices, created by Sami Juma ("we" or "us") and offered as a freemium service. The Application is provided "AS IS."

RestIQ is built to require as little of your information as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Your workouts stay on your iPhone.

This policy covers the limited data that does leave your device, and the reason it is required.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you create in RestIQ is stored on your device and is never sent to us:

• Your workout history, including set and rest durations, timestamps, and notes
• Your rest presets and Rest Cycles
• Your settings and preferences
• Your Pro subscription status

You can delete any of it inside the app at any time, and deleting RestIQ removes all of it from your device.

What leaves your iPhone

• Live Activity updates. While a rest timer is running and RestIQ is in the background, the app sends your Live Activity push token, a device key that verifies the request originated from RestIQ, and the current timer state (such as set number and remaining rest) to our relay server on Cloudflare. The relay passes it to Apple's Push Notification service, which is what keeps your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island up to date. None of it is used to identify you. Turning off Live Activities in the app's Settings stops this entirely.
• Purchases. Apple handles subscriptions through the App Store. We never see your payment details, only Apple's standard anonymized sales reports.
• Technical data. Cloudflare and Apple process technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the service. Our relay also keeps short-lived logs holding request outcomes and a shortened device key prefix, which we use to diagnose delivery problems and block abuse. We never use any of this to build a profile of you.

Apple and Cloudflare each handle this data under their own privacy policies and provide protection consistent with this one. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

What RestIQ never does

• No accounts, and we never ask for your name or email address
• No location data
• No advertising, no cross-app tracking, and no third-party analytics
• We do not sell or share your information
• No AI processing of your data

How long anything is kept

Data on your device is retained until you delete it or remove the app. The timer state sent for a Live Activity is transient and used only to deliver that one update. Relay logs are deleted within 7 days. Your device key is retained only while your installation remains registered, and is replaced when the app registers again.

Your rights and choices

Because nearly everything remains on your device, you are already in control. You can view, change, or delete your workouts, presets, and settings in the app at any time, and uninstalling RestIQ removes them. You can turn off Live Activities to stop the relay entirely.

For the limited data we do process, you can ask us to give you a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or transfer it elsewhere. Email support@tryrestiq.com.

EU and UK. Our legal bases are performance of a contract (delivering Live Activity updates and completing your purchase), legitimate interests (keeping the service running and secure), and legal obligation where the law requires it. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

California. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Apple Health

Saving workouts to Apple Health is off by default. If you turn it on in the app's Settings and grant permission, RestIQ writes your completed workouts to the Apple Health app on your device. It never reads health data of any kind. Anything written stays on your device under your control, is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and is never used for advertising or marketing. You can turn it off or withdraw permission at any time in iOS Settings, and delete anything RestIQ has written from within the Health app.

Do Not Track

RestIQ does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not collect the cross-site activity data that Do Not Track signals are designed to limit, and no other party collects it through RestIQ.

International transfers

If you use RestIQ outside of the United States, Apple and Cloudflare may process the limited data described above on servers in the US or other countries. Both maintain their own safeguards for these transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

Children

RestIQ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email support@tryrestiq.com and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in any material way, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
